Cookie policy
How kvito.dk uses cookies and similar technologies. In short: we do not set our own tracking cookies, and your consent choice is stored locally in your browser.
In short
- The marketing website kvito.dk does not set its own cookies for advertising or cookie based analytics tracking.
- The first time you visit the site we show a cookie banner. You can choose Accept cookies or Necessary only.
- Your choice is stored in localStorage under the key kvito_cookie_consent (version, choice and timestamp). This is not an HTTP cookie.
- Cloudflare (hosting) may set technical cookies for security and operations. They are not used for marketing.
- Language is chosen via URL (Danish on kvito.dk, English under /en/), not via cookies.
- The Kvito app uses device storage and tokens for login, settings and push. Those are not website cookies. See the privacy policy.
1. Who does this policy cover?
This cookie policy applies to the marketing website kvito.dk (including subpages and the English version under /en/), operated by Kvito (CVR 44353687).
Contact: kontakt@kvito.dk.
The policy covers cookies and similar technologies on the website. How the Kvito app processes personal data is described in the privacy policy. Terms of use are underterms.
2. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files that a website or service may store in your browser. They can be necessary for basic functions (e.g. security and operations) or used for statistics, preferences and marketing.
Similar technologies include localStorage, sessionStorage and similar browser storage. They store data locally on your device and are not automatically sent with every HTTP request in the same way as cookies.
Cookies can be first party (set by kvito.dk) or third party (set by another service, e.g. hosting or a login provider). They can be session cookies (deleted when you close the browser) or persistent cookies (kept for a period until they expire or are deleted).
3. Legal basis
In Denmark and the EU, rules on cookies and similar technologies (including ePrivacy rules implemented in Danish law) apply together with the GDPR when the storage involves processing of personal data.
- Necessary cookies and storage: technically necessary to deliver the website you request, or to remember a consent choice. They typically do not require consent, but we inform you about them here.
- Non necessary cookies: require your prior consent before they are set. kvito.dk does not use its own cookies for statistics or marketing at this time.
When you click Accept cookies, you consent to the use described in this policy for that choice. When you choose Necessary only, we limit ourselves to necessary storage and technical cookies from hosting.
4. Consent the first time you visit the site
The first time (or when the consent version changes) kvito.dk shows a cookie banner at the bottom of the page. You can choose:
- Accept cookies: you accept our use of cookies and similar technologies as described in this policy.
- Necessary only: we limit ourselves to necessary storage (consent choice) and technical cookies that hosting may set for security and operations.
Your choice is stored locally in the browser's localStorage under the keykvito_cookie_consent. The value is typically a JSON object with:
v: consent version (currently1)choice:acceptedornecessaryat: time of the choice (ISO date string)
The banner does not appear again until you clear site data for kvito.dk, remove localStorage for the key, or we update the consent version (for example if we start using new cookie categories).
The choice is not sent to our servers as part of the consent mechanism. It only lives in your browser so we can avoid showing the banner unnecessarily.
5. What we use on kvito.dk
5.1 Necessary storage (consent choice)
- Name / key: kvito_cookie_consent (localStorage)
- Purpose: remember your cookie choice so the banner is not shown unnecessarily
- Type: local browser storage (not an HTTP cookie)
- Duration: until you delete it, or we change the version
- Provider: Kvito (first party)
5.2 Necessary cookies from hosting (Cloudflare)
kvito.dk is hosted via Cloudflare. Cloudflare or equivalent infrastructure may set technical cookies to deliver, secure and protect the site, for example against abuse and to ensure stable operation. Examples may include cookies for security, load balancing or bot protection, depending on Cloudflare settings.
- Purpose: security, availability and operation of the website
- Marketing: no
- Provider: Cloudflare, Inc. (third party / infrastructure)
The specific cookie names and lifetimes may change at Cloudflare. You can see current cookies in your browser's developer tools or settings under cookies for kvito.dk.
5.3 Language and navigation
Language is chosen via URL: Danish on kvito.dk and English under /en/. We do not set a language cookie for that purpose.
5.4 Statistics, marketing and tracking
kvito.dk uses Cloudflare Web Analytics for anonymous, aggregated statistics on page views and performance. The solution is cookie free: it does not set cookies, does not use localStorage for tracking, and does not fingerprint you for personal profiles. A lightweight Cloudflare script sends aggregated measurements without building individual user profiles for advertising.
At this time kvito.dk does not use:
- Its own analytics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics or similar cookie based tracking)
- Ad networks or remarketing pixels
- Social media plugins that track you across sites via cookies from us
- Profiling for targeted advertising on the marketing website
If we later add statistics cookies or other non necessary cookies, we will update this policy, update the consent version and ask for new consent before such cookies are set.
6. Category overview
- Necessary: consent choice in localStorage + technical cookies from hosting. Necessary for basic function and lawful remembering of your choice.
- Functional (optional): not used on kvito.dk right now.
- Statistics (cookie free): Cloudflare Web Analytics without cookies. See section 5.4.
- Marketing (optional): not used on kvito.dk right now.
7. The Kvito app (not website cookies)
The Kvito app (iOS, Android and the app's web version where available) is a separate service. The app may use local storage (e.g. SharedPreferences or equivalent) for login, settings, Gmail status, theme, subscription status, notifications and cache. On web, Google Sign In and the Gmail connection may set cookies from Google when you sign in or authorise access. Those are necessary for login and the integration.
The app does not load third party analytics, tracking pixels or ad networks for marketing purposes as described in the privacy policy. Read more in the privacy policy.
8. Your choices and how to withdraw
You can at any time:
- Clear localStorage for kvito.dk (or specifically the key kvito_cookie_consent) so the cookie banner appears again and you can choose anew.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
- Use browser modes such as private/incognito, where cookies and local storage are typically deleted when you close the window (depends on the browser).
If you block necessary hosting cookies, parts of the site may work with limits or be less secure. The site still works for information purposes in most browsers, even if you choose necessary only.
In general you find cookie settings under your browser's privacy or security settings (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge and others). The steps vary between browsers and devices.
9. Disclosure and third parties
We do not sell cookie data from kvito.dk. Technical cookies from Cloudflare are processed by Cloudflare as part of hosting and security. See Cloudflare's own policies for details of their processing.
Links to the App Store, Google Play, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or other external sites may take you to services that set their own cookies. That is controlled by the relevant provider, not by Kvito's cookie banner on kvito.dk.
10. Retention and personal data
The consent choice in localStorage stays on your device. Via the cookie banner we do not collect a central log of who clicked what, beyond what may technically appear in ordinary server or CDN logs for the page view itself (e.g. IP addresses in security and operations logs at the host), as described further in theprivacy policy where relevant.
11. Updates
We may update this cookie policy when our use of cookies or similar technologies changes, or when the law requires it. The latest version is always on this page. For material changes that require new consent, we update the consent version so the banner appears again.
12. Contact
Questions about cookies or privacy: kontakt@kvito.dk (Kvito, CVR 44353687).
